Through sheer grit, resilience, and exceptional sporting talent, our players have continually overcome challenges to bring glory to the nation, cementing Bangladesh’s standing in international blind cricket.
In recent years, the Bangladesh National Blind Cricket Team has transformed from regional contenders into global heavyweights. Governed by the principles of inclusion, competitive excellence, and breaking societal barriers, the team has consistently reached the highest echelons of international tournaments.
Their back-to-back appearances in the T20 Blind World Cup finals and historic bilateral series victories abroad are a testament to the dedication of the players, coaches, and management.
Showcasing phenomenal consistency, Bangladesh reached the finals of the 4th edition of the T20 Blind World Cup held in Multan, Pakistan. Despite a tough final against the hosts, finishing as runners-up solidified their status as a top-tier cricketing nation.
In a historic tournament run, Bangladesh dominated the group stages and reached the finals of the 3rd T20 Blind World Cup in India. This marked their breakthrough appearance in a World Cup final.
The team secured a comprehensive 5-0 T20 series victory against the New Zealand BLINDCAPS on their home soil. This milestone marked Bangladesh’s first successful international series victory outside the Asia region.
Beyond the World Cups, the team actively participates in high-stakes bilateral series to hone their skills and promote the sport globally:
IndusInd Bilateral Series (2021): Competed fiercely in a multi-format series (T20s and ODIs) against India. While facing a highly experienced Indian side, players like MD Ashiqur Rahman and Arif Hussain showcased brilliant individual performances, gaining vital international exposure.
Continuous Domestic & Regional Play: The team consistently participates in regional Asian tournaments, fostering strong competitive ties with neighboring cricketing nations like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Our Vision: To use competitive cricket to empower visually impaired youth, inspire the nation, and eventually lift the World Cup trophy.
